Bitrate and quality presets
For HEVC and H.264, Low, Medium and High only change how many bits are spent per pixel (bpp). Bitrate = width × height × fps × bpp. Bit depth and chroma subsampling (4:2:2, 4:4:4) don't raise the bitrate; the same bit budget is shared across more color information. Exports use the same presets.
| Mode (25 fps) | HEVC · Low / Medium / High | H.264 · Low / Medium / High |
|---|---|---|
| 1080p | 5 / 13 / 26 Mbps | 8 / 21 / 41 Mbps |
| 1440p | 9 / 23 / 46 Mbps | 15 / 37 / 74 Mbps |
| 4K UHD | 21 / 52 / 104* Mbps | 33 / 83 / 166 Mbps |
| Open Gate 4000 × 3000 | 30 / 75 / 150* Mbps | 48 / 120 / 240 Mbps |
- * With 10-bit selected the bitrate is capped at 100 Mbps (10-bit, 4:2:2 and 4:4:4 on iPhone; 10-bit HEVC on Android).
- Bitrate scales with frame rate: 30 fps is 1.2 times the 25 fps figures.
- Bits per pixel (Low / Medium / High): HEVC 0.1 / 0.25 / 0.5, H.264 0.16 / 0.4 / 0.8. HEVC delivers the same image with roughly 40–50% fewer bits.
- Open Gate resolution depends on the sensor; 4000 × 3000 is shown as an example.
Why CinemaKit stands apart from other RAW apps.
Most RAW capture apps in this space, like RawCam and LogCam, make you use a separate tool or tether to a computer just to preview your footage. CinemaKit gives you an entire post-production pipeline on your phone:
Built-in RAW Player
Review true Bayer MLV clips directly on device. No desktop transfer, no companion viewer required.
On-Device 32-Bit Grading
Dedicated grading panel with live scopes, exposure recovery, and 3D LUTs for RAW and ProRes.
Native Gyroflow Support
Synchronized IMU telemetry recorded into every take for gimbal-free cinematic stabilization.
Wireless Web Server
Pull heavy MLV takes over local Wi-Fi straight into your browser without cables or external tools.
Crop & Oversampled Modes
1440p and 1080p high-speed crops yield faster sensor readouts, lower rolling shutter, and cooler shoots.
